Renowned in the Transportation Industry as a leader in Long-haul trucking, Rush Trucking Corporation recognized the desire, based on the volume of the customer's various needs, to establish a short haul division. In 1997, Rush Trucking Corporation purchased Blazer Truck Lines to accomplish that goal. Through this acquisition, Blazer Truck Lines was also able to immediately add to the Rush Fleet.

Corporate Headquarters in Wayne, Michigan is the new home for Blazer Truck Lines in 2000. With a concentrated 350-mile radius, Blazer Truck Lines supplies the increased truckload shipments specifically, but not limited to, Michigan, Indiana and Kentucky. With short-haul capabilities, Blazer Truck Lines accomplishes two major goals:
  • Allow Rush to continue concentration on Long-haul shipments without "displacing" those trucks in a short-haul capacity
  • Maintain and effectively manage the growth with an entirely separate fleet seasoned to provide daily service within a limited region

Dedicated Short-haul shipments as well as spikes or "extra shipments" out of the normal scope of the customers needs with same-day and overnight services, that is Blazer Truck Lines!
